Description
The Animal Control Adoption Center located on Anvil Block Road opened in November 2016. This 12,018 square-foot facility provides care for homeless pets, pet adoption services, and enforcement of the animal control laws in Clayton County. Designed with pet adoption in mind, the facility can house 178 animals, features a separate dog and cat area, and has an inside bonding room and a fenced-in outside area for adopters to romp and roam with their new furry families. The center is equipped for field operations and has a surgical suite to quickly care for incoming animals by a full-time, on-staff veterinarian.
The project was funded by SPLOST and the General Fund.
