Description

River’s Edge Walking Trail Phase IV will wrap around the lake between Gleneagles Drive and Gleneagles Way, ending at the club house on Plantation Parkway. The trail is just shy of one mile.

October 2024: Trail revisions are anticipated for erosion control and water runoff.

September 2024:  Clearing work along the planned trail continues with Pride Contracting.

August 2024: Pride Contracting Inc. started clearing trees and vegetation from the pre-determined trail path.

July 2024:   A survey is underway to determine the location of the trail. The design documents have been submitted to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources for review.

June 2024: The Clayton County Board of Commission awarded Pride Contracting, Inc. the $2.2 million contract to construct River’s Edge Walking Trail Phases 3 & 4 on June 4, 2024.

A notice to proceed will be issued to the contractor the first week in July.

May 2024:  Bids have been received and evaluated by the county. A vendor is expected to be awarded the project on June 4, 2024.

March 2024: A solicitation package has been posted and a pre-bid conference and site visit with potential contractors will be held on April 4. The deadline to submit a bid for the project is April 25.

February 2024: Prime Engineering has provided complete construction documents for the project. Planning, Design and Construction is working with Central Services to solicit bids for the project.
