Description
The new Fire Station No. 2 will be a replacement facility for the existing Fire Station No. 2 in Rex.
October 2024: A scope of service is being written in preparation for the project to go out for bid through Central Services.
September 2024: A scope of service is being written in preparation for the project to go out for bid through Central Services.
August 2024: The Clayton County Water Authority has approved the design documents. A scope of service is being written in preparation for the project to go out for bid.
July 2024: Planning & Zoning and Community Development are reviewing the design plans.
June 2024: The building plan review is in progress with Community Development. Clayton County Water Authority and Transportation and Development will submit any suggested changes in July 2024.
May 2024: An internal review of the design documents began on May 24, 2024. The Technical Review Committee is set to meet on June 5, 2024, to discuss the designs.
April 2024: Pond & Company architectural and engineering firm is working to adjust design documents following meetings with county staff. When complete, the documents will be submitted to Community Development for review.
March 2024: Civil Design documents are projected to be completed by April 8 and will be submitted to the county for review.
February 2024: Planning, Design and Construction is awaiting cost estimates for a sewer connection installation. Architectural firm POND & Company is revising designs prior to submittal to Community Development and the Clayton County Water Authority for review.
January 2024: An adjustment to the initial design is necessary to accommodate Clayton County Water Authority stormwater requirements. POND & Company architectural firm has provided Planning, Design and Construction with plans to construct an underground storm water detention pond. Cost estimates are to be received by Jan. 26.
